Bobby Doerr was a second baseman who played his entire career with the Red Sox (1937-44, 1946-51). He lost the 1945 season while serving the army during the World War. He retired early due to an injury.
Doerr was both an offensive and defensive force for the Red and he was a leader in the clubhouse as Ted Williams referred to his as "the silent captain". He was elected in Hall of Fame in 1986. His careers had his highlights for the 9 All Star apparences, and for the 1247 total RBIs.
