Carl was an incredible outfielder able to score more than 3000 hits and 400 home runs in his career (only one in Major League history). He played his 23 years career with Boston and was selected 18 times for the All Star Game. He also won the Gold Gloves 7 times. He lead the Red Sox in RBI, runs, hits, singles, doubles, total bases, games played and he is second to Williams in home runs. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1989 at the first ballot. It’s difficult to describe in a few words the career of one of the greatest of all time, but “Yaz†was outstanding in everything he did on a baseball field.
