Johnny Pesky, also known as “Mr Red Sox†or “the Needle†spent 21 years of his life with the Red Sox, as a player and manager. On the field he was a great shortstop and third baseman, and a contact hitter who hit just 14 home runs during his career but he had a .300 plus batting average.
